Publishing medieval charters for Slovenian history is a long-term effort. The first four volumes were still published in the days of the pioneer of the project, Franc Kos (in the period 1902–1915), with the fifth book, published by his son Milko Kos, following somewhat later on. It was only in 2002 that France Baraga published, on the basis of the collected materials, the Central Catalogue of Medieval Charters of Dr. Božo Otorepec from the Milko Kos Historical Institute of ZRC SAZU, the sixth volume of medieval charters encompassing a relatively short period of ten years, 1246–1255. The volume appeared without an index of names, the publication of which has been postponed until today. This book therefore contains an accurate explanatory index of personal and place names, thus completing Baraga’s edition of 295 medieval charters. The book comes with a CD Gradivo za slovensko zgodovino v srednjem veku. 6/1 – Listine 1246–1255. 6/2 – Imensko kazalo [Materials for Slovenian Medieval History. 6/1 – Charters 1246 – 1255. 6/2 – Index of names] and both books in pdf-format.

Stanje in spremembe spremlja pod vidikom cerkvenih predpisov oz. smernic tridentinskega koncila na področju sakralne umetnosti in pod vidikom umetnostne politike posameznih ljubljanskih škofov 17. stoletja.

Detailed description of the lifestyle of groups of high Chilean society in the late 19th and early 20th century, and its social and political role. The theoretical contribution of this book is to show through the analytical practice that the study of class consciousness requires taking culture as a historical object. There is an almost implicit postulate in the work: it is important but not sufficient to situate a class in relation to the economic structure. Of course, it is required to know the material conditioning, the type of social relations of production of which a certain class is agent; and for that reason in this book the description of the economic functions of the oligarchy is central. But between the economic situation of class and consciousness there is a specific field of mediations, which is culture. That culture is more than language, discourse, theory or ideas; she is a type of practice that is apprehended through the concept of way of being (from the Prologue of Tomás Moulian).

67 texts, including hymns, manifestos, articles or extracts from lengthy studies exemplify the relation between Romanticism and the national movements in the cultural space ranging from Poland to the Ottoman Empire. Each text is accompanied by a presentation of the author, and by an analysis of the context in which the respective work was born. The end of the 18th century and first decades of the 19th were in many respects a watershed period in European history. The ideas of the Enlightenment and the dramatic convulsions of the French Revolution had shattered the old bonds and cast doubt upon the established moral and social norms of the old corporate society. In culture a new trend, Romanticism, was successfully asserting itself against Classicism and provided a new key for a growing number of activists to 're-imagine' their national community, reaching beyond the traditional frameworks of identification (such as the 'political nation', regional patriotism, or Christian universalism). The collection focuses on the interplay of Romantic cultural discourses and the shaping of national ideology throughout the 19th century, tracing the patterns of cultural transfer with Western Europe as well as the mimetic competition of national ideologies within the region.

The chronicles of Gowa and Talloq are the most important historical sources for the study of pre-colonial Makassar. They have provided the basic framework and much of the information that we possess about the origins, growth, and expansion of Gowa during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. During this period Gowa and its close ally Talloq became the most powerful force in the eastern Indonesian archipelago, and historians have relied heavily on the chronicles to chart the developments of this period. Available for the first time in English translation, the two texts will offer historians and other scholars an invaluable foundation on which to base interpretations of this crucial place and time in Indonesian history. This volume is required reading for scholars of pre-modern Southeast Asia, including historians, linguists, anthropologists, and others. Full text (Open Access)

Theodor Heuss is one of the most significant founders of German politics' new political beginning in Germany. As a liberal party politician and leader of the Württemberg-Baden "Kultministerium" (ministry of culture) he gained respect in all four occupied zones. He faced his most important task during 1948/49 in the Parlamentarischer Rat (parliamentary council), where he made an essential contribution to the creation of the constitution. Both as a journalist and an "educator for democracy", Heuss advocated a moral reformation and the ruthless examination of crimes committed by the German people under the National Socialist regime.
